The Freecycle Network and member groups, as listservs, assume no responsibility for this risk.

It's wise to arrange for a drop-off at a public place (shopping area, library, etc.); or if you do give a member your address, to leave the item on the porch without mentioning whether or not you'll be home. If you, for example, are a single woman living alone, you may want to meet in a public place during the day to exchange the item, or have somebody with you at home, so it doesn't appear that you live alone.
